Iglesia Ni Cristo failed in convincing Congressmen to stop the impeachment case against Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez. Many lawmakers on the House of Representatives have said that a high ranking official of influential political group of Iglesia Ni Cristo has been making call about the impeachment. 212 Congressmen voted YES while only 46 voted NO. 4 members of the Macapagal clan and the INC Congressman Marcoleta are among who voted NO. It is widely believed that most of the 46 members of the House who voted NO are sympathizers of Gloria Arroyo. Why did Iglesia Ni Cristo try to stop the impeachment of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez? Is Iglesia Ni Cristo trying to defend Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez because eventually, it may end up as a prelude in persecuting Gloria Arroyo? (Erano Manalo was an avid supporter of Gloria Arroyo) Everyone also knows that Iglesia Ni Cristo endorsed Gloria Arroyo on the 2004 Presidential election.

212 Congressmen resisted the pressure given to them by the Iglesia Ni Cristo. They deserve a round of applause. Some of them were being regarded as "heroes of the day" by President Aquino. There were rumors that zero pork barrel will be given to those who will vote NO which is non-sense compared to the brown paper bag with thousands of pesos was given inside the Malacanang to kill an impeachment case against Gloria Arroyo last 2007. Remember when ex-Pampanga Governor Panlilio who exposed the meeting with the Malacanang? The 212 Congressmen are worthy of their valiant stand against the call of Iglesia Ni Cristo to stop the impeachment. Worse is, Iglesia Ni Cristo fully aware that Filipinos will despise them for trying to stop the impeachment case against Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez. Still INC counsel former Justice Secretary Serafin Cuevas represented Gutierrez in the House. Politics is thicker than faith. Politics is thicker than justice. Politics is big in Iglesia Ni Cristo. Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo is picking the wrong side of the fence. The Manalo Family is obviously taking the side against the President Noynoy Aquino.

This is not the first time that I have heard that Iglesia Ni Cristo is not happy with the Aquino government. Obviously, Iglesia Ni Cristo enjoyed more attention from a president during the Arroyo administration than with the present Aquino administration. Eduardo Manalo (who just inherited the position of Executive Minister from his dad when he died) is still a newbie in political decisions. Iglesia Ni Cristo taking the side of Gloria Arroyo and Merceditas Gutierrez is political suicide for a neophyte Eduardo Manalo. Arroyo and Gutierrez are rotten compared to mass-beloved President Noynoy Aquino. After that Iglesia Ni Cristo failed on their attempt to pressure the Congressmen in the Lower House, there's no guarantee that Iglesia Ni Cristo or INC will not do their trick again on the Senators. The witching power of Iglesia Ni Cristo will soon be again witnessed by the Filipino People. We can expect no more that INC will try again their luck in convincing to stop the ouster of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez from the office. Or perhaps, INC will be more silent on their next move.

Manila, Philippines - Political cult group Iglesia Ni Cristo is showing their (political) strength in the current Aquino Administration by intervening an impeachment case against a public official. Congressman Iloilo Rep. Niel Tupas Jr. exposed that a high ranking INC official has been making calls to different Congressmen to stop the impeachment complaint against the controversial Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez. INC is ruthless in their quest on trying to establish their political presence in every presidential administration here in the Philippines. (Iglesia Ni Cristo successfully established their political muscle during the Gloria Arroyo administration during the issue of Charter Change) Aside from being involved in government appointments, Iglesia Ni Cristo of the Manalo family is also well known for intervening political issues in the Philippines. INC cult group calling different Congressmen to stop a widely supported impeachment case against an Ombudsman is totally wicked. Iglesia Ni Cristo members continue to deny that INC is intervening Philippine politics but the news and Philippine media are witnesses on how INC always shows its witchery to politicians by luring them the INC block voting numbers. These are serious issues that need to be answered. Yes, I agree that Ombudsman Ma. Merceditas Gutierrez should be questioned in the Senate court with an impeachment proceeding. In this way, Ombudsman Gutierrez will be allowed to answer these questions while the public is watching. Public office is a public trust. It's a legal process. The Congressmen overwhelmingly voted in favor of the impeachment of Ombudsman Gutierrez. We only need 95 votes but we ended up 200+ lawmakers agreeing with the move of impeachment to the House of the Senate. The force of Gloria Arroyo in lower house is weak. They were not able to stop the public call for justice and fairness. The question is why the Iglesia Ni Cristo is trying to stop the impeachment case against Ombudsman Gutierrez?

Weekend before the Congress vote about the impeachment of the Ombudsman, reports exploded in the Philippine News that a high-ranking Iglesia Ni Cristo official has been making calls to Congressmen to stop the impeachment call for Ombudsman Gutierrez before the Congress vote.
